Panzer Dragoon was a series of rail shooting games developed by Sega in the 1990s for Sega Saturn, with six games in total released between 1995 and 2002. And although the remake edition for Nintendo Switch, exit on March 26, 2020, and later for Google Stadia has no perfect criticism, it seems pretty good functioning to justify ports to other platforms.
According to a Tweet of the Official Account Panzer Dragoon: Remake today, the game does exactly that and “will be available soon” on more platforms. The Tweet specifically confirms that PS4 and PC (both GOG and Steam) will be the first, and in a later tweet, developers also confirm an Xbox version to come.
Metacritic has the remake of Panzer Dragoon for Switch marked at a 63, with many critics noting that it is extremely faithful to the original. By making a remake, players want to play the same game they played in the 90s. Although it is not necessarily a bad thing that it is very similar to the original gameplay, orders and certain mechanisms of the Original are well overwhelmed and could certainly be improved.
The soundtrack was reworked and is still beautiful. The original soundtrack is included in the game with editing, and you can choose to listen.
The highly dated control scheme has been reworked and improved to make sure it looks like a game created in 2020. There is also a target and a 360-degree shooting, making it a much more complex system which does not seem as restricted or slow as the original.
The exact date of exit of these new platforms is still unknown, but it can be expected in 2020.
