The operations at the Chaos Final on December 12, 2021 in Abu Dhabi have been worked up for a good month. The findings come in the analysis of the new FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who was also there in the meeting in London. Decisions on it will be taken on March 18 at a meeting of World Motor Sport Council in Bahrain before the kick-off of the record season with 23 races.
Also in the coming season there will be three sprinklets, but the FIA took adjustments. So the sprint qualifying becomes “sprint”, and the pole position for the Grand Prix is awarded to the fastest driver of qualifying on Friday. The rating was changed: Eight points gets the first one, still a counter of the eighth. Sprints should give this time at the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna (Imola), Austria and Brazil.
In retrospect of the Chaotic Rain Race in Spa-Francorchamps, the Commission decided some changes in the regulations. Points are only available in the future if at least two rounds without the Safety Car or the Virtual Safety Car were completed.
Also, the rule that provides half points has been changed. A new key provides for a modified dot distribution in a race demolition: were completed less than 25 percent of Rendistanz, only the top 5 points get 6, 4, 3, 2, and a counter. Half points are no longer awarded.
