A new version of a video game classic: Final Fantasy Origin revealed

The Final Fantasy series has set a generation of games, constantly pushing the limits of graphics and narration through video games. From now on, Square Enix announced during his presentation at the E3 he was going to throw a new look at the roots of his success series with Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, a new bold version of the original Final Fantasy game.

Developed by Team Ninja, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will tell the history of the first title of Final Fantasy: The Warriors of Light browse the country to restore the power of crystals and face the fallen knight Garland. However, there are a lot of twists in history this time – especially that instead of four light warriors, Final Fantasy Origin will feature three: Jack, Ash and Zed.

Given that Team Ninja has already worked on the Final Fantasy Dissidia fighting game: Final Fantasy NT, it may not be surprising that Stranger of Paradise abandons the fight against the originals in favor of a Dark Souls-like combat system. The official description of Stranger in Paradise seems to suggest that there may be more in the title that it seems: “Jack and his allies, Ash and Jed, burn for determination to overcome chaos while they Open the doctors’ doors of chaos. However, doubts remain: are they really the warriors of the light announced by the prophecy? ” This can mean that Jack, ASH and JED are not, in fact, the counterparts of the original game Warriors of Light, and that Stranger of Paradise could take more daring turns with the plot of his source material. Of course, Square Enix is ​​no stranger to take freedoms when reworking older titles – The Final Fantasy VII Remake intrigue has been very different from his PlayStation 1 counterpart.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be released on Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC in 2022. A demo of the game will soon be launched on PS5.
